Hello,
I’m Molchi. With my height of 18 cm I’m the biggest newts in Germany. My underneath is orange with black spots, my top is brown. Only the hubbies of us have a crest.
Although you can find me everywhere in Germany, I’m very rare.
I prefer forests where I live under wood and stones. When I spawn I go to a sunny pond.
My favorite meal are snails and midges. My enemies are birds and fishes. To protect myself I bite and poison them. If everything is all right, I will be 12 years.
